The Light My Firebird was designed by Ira Gilford. It is based on a 1969 Pontiac Firebird, modified in the "Spoilers" series style.
It was released in 1970 as part of the "Spoilers" series and came with Redline (RL) wheels.
Like all "Spoilers," it features an exposed, chrome-plated engine and exhausts integrated into the base. The name is a playful reference to the popular song by The Doors. This casting is based on the first-generation Firebird.
It is part of the "Spoilers" series. It is a modified version of the 1967 "Custom Firebird" casting from the Original 16.
It was produced in various Spectraflame colors. It is generally considered one of the harder-to-find "Spoilers" castings.
