Designer and Inspiration:

The Custom Fleetside was designed by Harry Bentley Bradley. It is based on his own customized 1964 Chevrolet C-10 Fleetside pickup truck and is one of the "Original 16."

Historical Context and Production Years:

Released in 1968, it was produced with Redline (RL) wheels until 1969.

Unique Aspects:

This was the only truck in the "Original 16" lineup. It features an opening hood and a tonneau cover over the truck bed. The casting has a lowered, hot-rod stance. Some versions came with two small plastic motorcycles as accessories.

Similar Castings:

As the first Hot Wheels pickup, it set the precedent for hundreds of future truck castings.

Variations and Special Editions:

It was produced in all original Spectraflame colors. The versions that came with the motorcycle accessories are particularly sought after by collectors.
