The Nitty Gritty Kitty was designed by Ira Gilford. It is based on the 1967 Mercury Cougar, modified in the "Spoilers" series style.
It was released in 1970 as part of the "Spoilers" series and came with Redline (RL) wheels.
As a "Spoiler," its defining characteristic is the exposed, chrome-plated engine and side-exit exhausts that are part of the base. The casting is a modified version of the 1968 "Custom Cougar."
It is part of the "Spoilers" series. It is a more aggressive, race-inspired version of the original "Custom Cougar."
It was produced in many Spectraflame colors. It is generally considered one of the more common "Spoilers" castings.
