The Poison Pinto was designed by Larry Wood. It is based on the Ford Pinto, a popular American subcompact car, modified in a road-racing style.
It was first released in 1976 as part of the "Flying Colors" series. Model 9240 with Redline (RL) wheels is from that debut year.
The casting features wide fender flares, a front air dam, and a large V8 engine swapping out the original four-cylinder. The initial release was in bright green enamel with racing tampos. The rear hatch opens.
It is a direct contemporary and competitor to the "Gremlin Grinder," both being race-prepped versions of well-known subcompacts.
After its Redline debut, it was produced with Blackwall wheels. It was also released in red and yellow.
