The Custom Eldorado was designed by Harry Bentley Bradley. It is based on the 1967 Cadillac Eldorado and is one of the "Original 16" Hot Wheels.
Released in 1968, it was produced with Redline (RL) wheels until 1969.
This casting features an opening hood and a molded black vinyl roof texture. There are significant differences between the U.S. and Hong Kong versions. The HK version has a longer hood, different side exhaust pipes, and a blue-tinted windshield, whereas the U.S. version is clear.
Part of the "Sweet 16," it's one of the few luxury models in the initial lineup. The U.S. mold was later re-tooled to create the "Sugar Caddy" in 1971.
It was produced in most Spectraflame colors. The black painted roof is a standard feature. Very rare versions exist without the black roof. Interior colors vary.
