The Jeep CJ-7 casting was designed by Larry Wood. It's based on the popular Jeep CJ-7, a civilian utility vehicle known for its off-road capabilities.
The casting first appeared in 1981. Model 4362 corresponds to its 1983 release in the premium "Real Riders" series.
This is an open-top Jeep model featuring a prominent roll bar. The 1983 Real Riders version is finished in metalflake gold with brown and orange stripes. Its defining feature is the rugged, knobby rubber Real Riders tires mounted on 5-spoke chrome hubs, which enhance its off-road appearance.
This casting is the direct predecessor to the "Beach Patrol" name. It's also a close relative of the "Jeep Scrambler" (CJ-8), which has a longer wheelbase and a small pickup bed.
The initial 1981 mainline release was typically brown or red. The 1983 Real Riders release in gold is a key premium version.
