The Jeep Scrambler was designed by Larry Wood. It is based on the Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler, a longer-wheelbase version of the CJ-7 that featured a small pickup truck bed.
This casting debuted in 1983. Model 4370 is from the "Real Riders" series of that same year.
The casting accurately portrays the longer frame and pickup bed that differentiates the Scrambler from the CJ-7. The 1983 Real Riders release came in metalflake blue with yellow and orange graphics. It featured knobby rubber Real Riders tires on gray hubs, and often had a plastic motorcycle accessory in the back.
It is a direct counterpart to the "Jeep CJ-7" casting, representing a different body style of the same vehicle family.
The mainline version released in 1983 was red. The Real Riders version is the premium edition for that year.
