The NASCAR Stocker was designed by Larry Wood. It is based on the 1981 Pontiac Grand Prix, modified for NASCAR racing.
It debuted in 1983. Model 3927 was part of "The Hot Ones" series from that year, with GHO wheels.
This casting is a detailed representation of a Winston Cup era stock car, with a full roll cage, window nets, and large rear spoiler. The 1983 "Hot Ones" version came in white with STP racing livery (though not officially licensed, it mimicked Richard Petty's car) and featured fast GHO wheels.
It is a direct competitor in the lineup to the "Mirada Stocker" and "Front Runnin' Fairmont."
It was released in many authentic and fantasy racing liveries throughout the 1980s. A version with rubber Real Riders tires was also produced.
