The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was designed by Ira Gilford. It is based on the classic British luxury saloon of the same name.
It was first released in 1969 and produced with Redline (RL) wheels until 1971.
The casting features an opening boot (trunk) and a highly detailed grille complete with a tiny "Spirit of Ecstasy" hood ornament. The body is a solid, heavy casting, reflecting the car's luxury status.
It was one of the first ultra-luxury car models in the Hot Wheels line, a contemporary of the Custom Continental Mark III.
It was produced in various Spectraflame colors. A notable variation is the promotional version for the "Hot Wheels Club Kit," which came in chrome. Some versions have a painted black roof.
